Paul Morris: Resurrection Fine Art Series

The Arts Council of Greater Palatka would like to invite you to our next gallery opening with Paul Morris: show Resurrection on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Larimer Arts Center Located at 216 Reid St. Palatka FL. 32177
Resurrection is a fine art series of photographic images produced without using a traditional camera. This dynamic image series explores America’s disposable society by bringing back to life the discards of our modern world. Using a process Paul titled “Scanography” he uses a flatbed scanner to digitize found objects in very high resolution to capture the fine textures and colors. The long lost objects now take on a new life as fine art photography. Each image explores unseen aesthetic visual qualities of trash and evokes a story of past use on a journey taken through our world.

A book project grew out of the Resurrection series titled “Afterlife”. It is a natural progression to collaborate with wordsmiths to extending the intellectual boundaries of the project into a book with stories to accompany the images.

The book is an evolving work-in-progress, and there are many more images and tales to come. Paul is actively seeking writers to participate in the project. A prototype version of the book will be available for viewing. We hope to see you there.
